What physical activities can i get 4-5 years old to do in a circle of 8?

Pass around a basket of objects and they can make a story  w/ the object they choose OR  each picks an object and adds to a story of the previous person.

i like popcorn.......one person acts out a story(maybe a story they wrote) but they have to use hand motion and body lauguage....they that person "popcorns"or passes the beanbag to the next person.then that person acts out a different story...and this keeps  going until everyone gets a chance to act something out

You can try the following:

- hot potato

- parachute with the balls or bean bags

- sit the children in pairs parallel to each other and get them to pass it back and forth to music. When the music stops, the child who has the ball/bean bag is out

All In Dodge Ball

Have 2 children stand in the middle of a circle, with the other children sitting on the outside.  The children roll the ball and try to hit the feet of the two kids in the middle, and the kids in the middle try and not get hit.  They can take turns being the kids in. the middle, but still get to play when it isn't their turn.  I usually use 2-3 balls depending on the number of kids in the middle and size of the group.

Maybe everyone could play the game telephone......you whisper something in the persons next to yours ear and they pass it on.....the last person must say what they hear (usually uits something totally different and silly)

Or using the bean bags, someone could leave the room then come back and guess which person has the bean bag

Or roll the ball without letting it get out of the circle =]
