Question:

What physical features change in a persons face that enables others to know taht he or she is sleepy or tired?

I was trying to explain to my girl that the eyes sink into the eye sockets when a person gets sleepy... but, of course, she didnt want to believe that. She thinks im making it up so i just need someone else who knows what they are talking about to agree with me. lol What other physical features of the face show a person being sleepy?

  1. I agree that is has a lot to do with a person's eyes.  I'm not sure that they sink into the eye sockets, but eyelids are droopy, dark circles or bags under the eyes, and the whites of the eyes are a different color (possibly blood shot).


  2. sunken eyes, dehydrated skin (can look dry, or even lighter/greyish tinted), blood shot eyes, dark circles under eyes, slightly drooping eyelids.  I know there's more but, I can't remember.  I did a paper in college on sleep deprivation and the physical effects. Hope that helps

  3. darkening around the eyes or sagging, blood shot eyes, pale skin, and an overall look of drousiess

  4. baggy eyes, They look sort of swollen. Also the eyes, they may look very lazy by rolling them back or foward, the ey lids might be half closed as well. your posture may not be as upright. The way someone talks can be a clue, yawning as well
