  1. the country side...france has a beautiful countryside...

you could also go to the smaller towns, other other cities such as nice and marseille...

  2. Pere LaChaise cemetery is a gorgeous setting. Someone said that being buried there was like having mohogany furniture. Lots of cats creeping around on padded paws.

  3. Paris isn't just the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. Nor is it even just famous monuments for that matter. But the latter also include: the Arc de Triomphe, the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, Notre Dame Cathedral, Beaubourg (the Centre Georges Pompidou), and more. Some nice places to walk around and just relax include the banks of the Seine, the Marais, and the Jardin du Luxembourg.

  4. My wife and I went to France this past March. You could spend weeks in Paris alone and barely scratch the surface. Some other well known sights around Paris that we really enjoyed were Notre Dame and Versailles. The Picasso Museum is also fun, if you like his work. One thing that's supposed to be an underrated activity, but which we sadly didn't have time to do, is to walk along St. Martin's Canal, particularly if the weather's nice.

The high-speed train system is great in France too. Even if you're staying in Paris, like we were, there are numerous day trips you can take outside the city. It's fun going down to chateaux country to see some of the huge castles.

  5. Walk the neighborhoods...the Left Bank is incredible. If you are in Paris on a Saturday, go to some of the morning markets and just take it in.  The pastry shops are incredible!  Climb to the top of the Arc d'Triomphe and see the view.  Sacre C'ouer (sp) is breath-taking. There is a flea market on the northern side of Paris.  Take the Metro out and haggle with merchants. The Metro itself is an experience.

  6. there's a ton to see in Paris

you can spend weeks and not see the entire city

i'd suggest some offbeat places like butte aux cailles neighborhood

    art gallery street like

    viaduc des arts

    canal st martin area

  7. Go to the catacombes underneath the city, fascinating!

  8. Paris is a city for discovering walking. But i think that you can't miss the Tuileries Garden (in Rue de Rivoli) , the Versalles palace, a foot walk by Avenue Foch (one of the most beautiful avenues in the world), a walk a cote de Seine River, a trip by boat in the Seine, Notre Dame, St. Germain, the bridges Alexander 3 and Pont Neuf,

a drink in Aux des Magots(St. Germain).

Going to the top of the Eiffel Tower (try to do some research before for avoid queues) .

    Good luck!!
