I'm 13 years old, and I want to volunteer somewhere, besides nursing homes and at the SPCA.

I'm interested in fashion, beauty, and things like that. But please post all of the things you know of that I can volunteer at.

And one last question: Do clothing stores have volunteer programs?

-Thanks guys.

  1. Animal shelters ALWAYS need volunteer workers!!

And I believe hospitals and nursing homes do as well :o)

  2. our community has a lot of volunteer work at museums to help answer phones and do guides. I always thought that could be pretty fun. But something your over-looking if you like fashion and beauty. try asking if you can give some make-overs to some of the ladies at a nursing home or adult assistance home. I bet they would love to feel s**y again for the day and you would be able to practice some tequeniques on them. Plus they may be able to give you some insight on things they remember as fashionable and give you a little interesting fashion history. But as for retail stores and for-profit organizations your most likely going to have to look for something more like job shadowing or internships. You'd have to talk to the manager of the store about whether they accept that kind of thing.

  3. where are you located? See if there is a 'welfare to work' program there....they need volunteers to help sort and help women obtain outfits for job interviews....I don't know if they have a location near you though.

  4. See, most fashion related store are stores, which translates into a business, which means they make a profit. Do you want to be a volunteer or intern?

The salvation army allows volunteers. Also, try local clothing stores (they would most likely allow you to work as an intern).

Try googling some organizations. I know there are some make over programs for the poor women and children.

It's difficult to suggest places when you don't give us a city or state. =] Good luck.

  5. Depends where you're located (for different age regulations).

Local soup kitchen (probably not in the kitchen but in the serving line), feeding homeless on the street, local clothing distribution centers (we have several in town that allow ages 10 and up), or just look up the street you live on, I'm sure there is an elderly or shut in that could use their windows washed, dog walked or garbage taken out.

    Good luck
