What places can under 15s work in the leeds area ?

I'm looking for a job in the leeds area but i am only 14. i was wondering if anyone could help with suggestions and such ?

    it is practically impossible to find an employer who will employ you before you have a national insurance number (you don't get one until you are 16). Your best bet would be to ask local, privately owned businesses (eg hairdressers, corner shops, cafes etc) because they will be more likely to pay you in cash so they can avoid problems with your NI.

    I tried to get work when I was 15 and handed in loads of CV's to shops in Leeds. none of them would even give me an interview because I didn't have an NI number so I got a job at the hairdressers in my village.

  2. Hiya - Well according to English employment law you can't work until you're at least 16 in most businesses. One exception would be doing a paper round, or some other kind of delivery thing where your parents/guardian can supervise you. I once delivered the yellow pages with my mum, earned about £40 which doesn't sound a lot now but 15 years ago it would have been a small fortune! How about offering to do jobs for your family and friends in exchange for cash? Like cleaning cars, helping out with DIY etc. Good luck x
