  1. I come from Sydney but am rather oblivious to what there is to do... Blue mountains, Bondi beach, Jenolan Caves, perhaps a leisurly drive through Wollongong to Kiama, Taronga zoo, Symbio wildlife park, plus tons more...

I love visiting Melbourne for holidays so here's some suggestions:

    - Great Ocean Road

    - Penguins at Phillip Island

    - Soverign Hill

    - Colonial Tramcar restaurant

    - The city circle tram

    - The free city tour bus

    - Queen Victoria Markets

    - Bridge Rd Richmond - Discount shopping

    - DFO - Discount Factory Outlet on Spencer St

    - Melbourne Central

    - Chapel St

    - Bourke St mall

    - Other city shops

    - China town, was there for new year was amazing

    - Southbank

    - Docklands

    - St Kilda beach

    - Geelong

    - Cruise on the Yarra

    - Skydeck

There is definitly plenty to do in Melbourne, you won't get enough time.

  2. Definitely make time to see Melbourne.  I go there quite a bit for 1-3 days so I often do small group tours when my partner is working.  The overseas people I've spoken to on these tours LOVE Melbourne.  There is so much to see there.  See onlymelbourne or thatsmelbourne.com to see the multitude of places you can go.

I've only been to Sydney once so I'm not right up on what's there other than your must dos - Sydney Opera House, The Rocks, Sydney Harbour Bridge, etc.

    Have a great time.

  3. Forget Melbourne. It's just another city. Go out into the country instead and see, the natural wonders like the Jenolan Caves, the country towns, and the outback.

If you do go to Victoria, visit the country rather than the city. I drove around Australia and enjoyed the attractions in country Victoria far more than the stink hole of foreigners and bogans called Melbourne.

  4. I think Sydney has it all! Theres enough to do and see in Sydney and if you go to melbourne you'll see the same things but smaller.

Sydney is the place! it's a BEAUTIFUL city, lively etc etc I could ramble on about the positives of Sydney for years and years!
