We are planning to visit the black forest in Germany next month? Can someone tell me what are the places to visit and where should one stay? We have 3 days for this trip.

Some places I heard of are: Baden-Baden, Triberg, Freiburg and Titisee.

Where should we stay if we want to visit all these places?

  1. I agree, the watrefalls in Triberg are a must-see. Titisee is gorgeous,  and Freiburg is a very pretty and quite a progressive city as far as protecting the environment is concerned. There are also beautiful hikes in the Glottertal area, and if you are at all interested in wine, visit one of the local vineyards and book yourself a wine tasting. The Wutachschlucht (a spectacular gorge) is alo definitely worth a visit, as is Feldberg mountain.

depending on what kind of holiday you like best. My advice would be to make your base in Freiburg, but other than that steer clear of cities and focus on the beautiful scenery in the countryside. The link above also has an accommodation service you may want to check out.

  2. Definately go see the triberg waterfall. and NeuSchwannstein (the castle). You will get a good view of what the Black forest looks like. The drive up to the waterfall is pretty winding around a mountain and you can either hike or take a horse drawn cart up to NeuSchwanstein. I lived in Freiburg for a while and it is gorgeous too. You will have lots of fun... Their is also a museum-like Black forest town that has the traditional homes and items on display if you like that sort of thing.
