  1. Nope. It can undergo the Light-Independent Reaction, if it happens first. But the plant can't grow in complete darkness even a Light independent reaction will happen. Because the By-products of the Light Dependent reactions are needed for the Light Independent Reaction which are NADP and ATP.


  2. Very rare for any plant to grow completely in the dark as they feed on the photosynthesis.  But still there are two such plants.  They live on plants that normally require the photosynthesis process to live.  They are more of a parasite.

    One is a saprophyte (feeds on dead plant

    material) called Indian pipes  and grows in woodlands.  It looks like a

    fungus but has flowers!  Another is a parasite called dodder which also has  no Green color because it gets nourishment from living plants.
