I have seen a planet growing in a nearby garden. When I asked about it, the only answer available was "It's a weed."

There is a central stalk, about the size and shape of an asparagus, with tightly clustered red fruits around it. Each fruit looks like a cherry tomato, but they are so tightly clustered on the stalk that they deform each other into almost hexagonal solids.

Does anyone have a clue what I'm seeing?

  1. Sounds like an Arum.  Here's a link with pictures of one variety of the plant.
