I just recently purchased a house and in a closed in room where the door was nailed shut a few plants were growing. Ive been studying it and there is absolutely no light available to the plant. It's not a mushroom or mold and its not weed.It has stalks that look like it could be a bean plant but its not. It has some leaves on it approximately ten of them per stalk but like i said its not a weed plant.

  1. Many plants grow faster in the dark.  They can't keep it up after they run out of stored fuel but it helps them find light.

  2. I've heard of night-blooming jasmine, but nothing like this...hmmm interesting.

  3. Plants tend to elongate in the dark in order to reach the light. Think of them as being in a forest with a thick canopy overhead--they have to grow up tall in order to reach sunlight, and if they don't, then they run out of stored energy and will die.

I'm curious as to what kind of plants they are, and why they nailed the door shut. I believe you that they're not weed--the previous inhabitants would have taken it with them. Tomatoes? Mint? Post some pictures...
