What plants like wet soil??

  1. The first question to ask yourself before planning a wet-soil garden is if the water has in-and-outflow. Otherwise, the area will be stagnant, and very little will survive there.


  2. Willows and cottonwoods which are usually found next to streams.  I don't believe that iris like wet conditions as they do rot if kept too wet.

  6. I'm not sure in what zone you live but here are a few:

    Elephant Ears, Ferns, Japanese and Louisiana Irises (not all irises like wet feet), Hydrangeas, Willows, Cottonwoods, Cat tails, Arrowheads, Monkshood, Bald Cypress, Silver Maples, Horsetails, River Birch. Giant miscanthus grass and many others. I provided three sites that list hydrophilic plants.  Good Luck and happy planting!
