I'm not looking for an obvious star...maybe one on a second or third line. For me its Adam Burish for the Hawks. Not a scorer but a gritty hard nose player that plays tough and in your face brand of hockey. Who is yours?

  1. Lidstrom- Calm and collected. intense but always in charge.

  2. jonathan cheechoo!!!!!

  3. Back in the heyday, I loved Keith Magnuson of the Blackhawks. Tough as all h, missing teeth and always right in the thick of it. Not many like him anymore.

  4. I'd say Nick Lidstrom.  He is Mr. Norris Trophy.  The best defender in the league, plus he quarterbacks the powerplay from the blueline.  He's still a scoring threat from the point with a rocket of a shot, as well.  He's one of the best two-way players in the league on a team full of players that play both offense and defense exceptionally well.

  5. Milan Lucic. Black and Blue hockey. That's what being a Bruin is all about.

  6. Nicklas Lidstrom.

Calm, composed, precise, perfect, and victorious.

  7. Kate, seriously... i read everybody's answers before i answer them and you're always the one stealing what i was going to say.

Max Talbot, he's not a serious guy - like a lot of players on the team - but when it comes down to hockey, he's serious.

Tyler Kennedy, he may be little but he doesn't back down from fights.

  8. my favorite player the avs used to have was danny hinote...he plays the same type of game as burish

  9. No single person represents the Wings and their style of play. They play as a team, and each players style makes the team what it is. (a champion)

  10. Flyers:

Mike Richards. He is a gritty, hard-working, hit-throwing, play-making, scoring forward who fights not only for himself, but also for his team mates.

  11. rj ummberger i think he really represents the flyers because they are gritty but still skillfull and get the job done and also have a lot of heart

  12. Mike green, he can make plays and score goals and he isnt affriad to step up the hitting.  He also is the 1st one back to protect the caps net and keep the other guys out of the crease.  He is a perfect example for the style boudreau encorperates

  13. Milan Hejduk or Merak Svatos. Both are fast and make the right plays, to benefit the team.

  14. God there are so many for NJ:

Brodeur- all around great work ethic and effort

Pandolfo- doesnt win the unsung hero award every year for nothing....

Madden- Selke nominee, skates hard every shift!

Parise- superstar in the making, 100% effort all the time

Brylin- 100% effort even for a little guy, never backed down...

For me though I htink it would be between Madden and Pandolfo because they are such gifted defensive forwards and stand for everything that is a New Jersey Devil.  John Madden is developing that extra scoring flare so I would give it to him, not by much at all though

  15. madden!

  16. Dustin Brown -

He's young, full of energy and can throw big hits when he needs to. He can score, but often goes through skids and sometimes does foolish things to take the team out of the game. This will change as he matures and gets a little more experience.

Most of all, he will give it all he has night in and night out, whether the team is up 6 or down 6.

He's a stud and the kings will be back!

  17. Nick Lidstrom: Nick Lidstrom is a class act. He is always there to pick up the Red wings. I think he is probably the most respected players in the league.

Anyone who said like Max Talbot is an idiot. So your saying a guy who looks retarded and sucks at hockey is your role model? O wait! it's the Pittsburgh Penguins never mind. Did he even play in the playoffs? I didn't notice. THE PENGUINS ARE PUSSYS! GO PRETTY BOY PENGUINS RIGHT? HAHA NO!

  18. I'm going to have to go with Max Talbot and Tyler Kennedy.

Now Max is the kind of guy who'll get under your skin and then score a beautiful goal right after it. I can't even describe his "style of play" sometimes.

And Tyler Kennedy........wow. Talk about a small guy. I think he's something like 5'11" or 5'10" ......I don't know. But he can be HARD NOSE. Anytime you're willing to drop the gloves...he'll be there. He's fast too.....one minute you see him, the next he's gone. He doesn't score many goals (ha, we all learned that in the playoffs....a total of 0 goals) but I expect some pretty great things about him. He's 21 I think....

Anywho....here's one of his fights with Scottie Upshall.....

    Kimberly......lmao! Sorry!..... ;)

  19. mike grier. he played here for a year in buffalo, but i didnt realize how important he was until he left. great penalty killer and does the dirty work , he doesnt score often, but when he does they are big goals. you need guys like this to win the cup. finesse players alone will not get it done. gretzky had semenko, lemiuex had kevin stevens, bure had odjick etc.

  20. Yes okay I'll ditto the CHEECHOO up there^^^.

It's wreckless and CRAZY. But it can get the job done, MOST of the time.

But now that Wilson is fired I think it will be more like Milan Michalek, REALLY FAST and SMOOTH.

Nips- Totally agree. I have noticed his ups and downs (Calgary Series), but when he's hot, he's FAST and SMOOTH!

  21. Stan Jonathan of the Boston Bruins. Little guy but would knock your teeth in a heartbeat.

  22. Max Talbot.

He never quits. He's the hardest working man on the Penguins team by far. When we need a spark, Talbot is always there to deliver.

  23. Kronwall... his open-ice hits kind of represent that the WINGS arent as soft as they used to be! The Wings actually outhit every team they played in the playoffs.... rather surprising... and to tell me that Datsyuk was one of the leading hitters? Anyway.. Kronwall helps to set the tone for the WINGS to be more on the physical side, but to be that way when its needed, not just do it just to do it...... like the DUCKS!

  24. Derek Roy - Buffalo Sabres - Typicaly Buffalo player.  Small, quick, good hands, good shot, came up through the farm system.  Lots of teams changed to the run 'n' gun style Buffalo had out of the lockout with the "new" NHL.  Buffalo was that team and that was probably their best chance at the cup.  Oh well...Derek Roy is the perfect player for this team.  No matter how small he is, he's tough and will play his game.  Some say he dives every now and then...but I saw him as a Kitchner Ranger and if you wanted to see an Emmy winning performance, you should have saw him then.

  25. The Panthers I would have to say David Booth. All effort and heart. He has the skill too. He does not give up on the puck or play ever. The Panthers are always seeming to be fighting for a playoff spot until the last game of the season. So there is the comparison

  26. Many times this past season Burish failed to answer the bell. He DID a few times, often he did not, and I took note.

Magnuson did leave it all on the ice, but was marginally talented.

The player might be toews. the goal he scored against the AVS was incredible.

  27. john madden. while brodeur is the obvious choice, madden is the one not many would think of. he really shows the devils style of defense first, tire out the other team, shut down their stars, and then score on them in the third when they have no air left. then, if need be, kill them in the shootout.

he is constantly matched up against the top guys, and still set careers highs in several offensive stats last year. he could easily be a 30, possibly 40 goal scorer on a more offensive team, but does what is needed and plays defense, sacrificing himself for the team, the devils way.
