what high priced player do you take on your team for the $8,000,000+ salary group. There is no player worth that much money, but who do you think deserves most of it

08-09 salaries

1. Scott Gomez - 8.0 mil

2. Wade Redden - 8.0mil

3. Daniel Briere - 8.0mil

4. Kimmi Timonen - 8.0mil

5. Sidney Crosby - 9.0mil

6. Thomas Vanek - 8.0mil

7. Dany Heatley - 10.0mil

8. Jason Spezza - 8.0mil

9. Alex Ovechkin - 9.0 mil

10. Miika Kiprusof - 8.5mil

anyone else find it kinda funny to see that all the 8million plus players (exclusing goalies) can all be found in the eastern conference. I think the highest was Lidstrom/Hossa at 7.45mil

* also vancouver offered $20 mil for 2 yrs to Sundin, yet to be accepted*

  1. CROSBY!!! <333333

  2. Alexander Ovechkin.

  3. I don't think you can go wrong with either of Ovechkin or Crosby!  They are both exceptional players.  They are both very young and apparently quite healthy (i.e. betting $10 million on Heatley's reconstructed knee is risky at best)!  They are both "foundation players" - players that a team can be based around!  Finally, they are incredibly marketable to your fans because of all these aforementioned factors!

Their salaries would appear to be exceptional investments for their ownerships!

  4. Ovechkin for sure.  He was the best player in the NHL last year, after all...Richard, Hart, and Pearson winner.

  5. The only players on that list that deserve what they are getting are Crosby and Ovechkin.

Heatley is NOT worth $10 million.  He is a great player, but only offense and hurt a lot.

  6. 1.plays suck hockey

    6.Spezza

    7.Vanek

    9.Heatley

    10Gomez

  9. maybe ovechkin, certaily not the killer.

  10. ovechkin. that was easy.

  11. Where did you get these numbers?? Some of them don't look correct.

    For instance:

Dany Heatley has agreed to a six-year contract extension with the Ottawa Senators, averaging $7.5 million per year with a no movement clause.

"The contract will pay Heatley $5 million in signing bonus money next July 1 and $5 million in salary for $10 million in total next season, $4 million in signing bonus money on July 1, 2009 and $4 million in salary for $8 million total in Year 2, $8 million in Year 3, $8 million in the fourth year, $6 million in Year 5 and $5 million in Year 6."

"About an hour after finally agreeing to the terms Michal Rozsival (four years, $20 million), the Rangers stunningly signed Wade Redden to a six-year, $39 million contract."

**** Hey..all I'm saying is get your numbers correct before you put them to print...YES those salaries INCLUDE the signing bonuses. Redden is NOT making 8 mil per year NEITHER is Heatley making 10 ****over the length of the contracts****.
