  1. Jordan Staal for the Pens

    Hasek for the Wings

  2. C GLEN WILLIAMS, DETROIT RED WINGS (4TH OVERALL, 1976)

The high-scoring forward from the Saskatoon Blades never found his form in the NHL and was limited to two goals and seven points in just 44 games during his one and only season in The Show. His Blades teammate Bernie Federko (7th) had a much better career. Second-round steals that year included Brian Sutter (20th) and Randy Carlyle (30th).

  3. Ughhhh - it has to be Daigle (although I blame the team - rushing him to be the face of the franchise - more than Daigle himself)...I would also say Jakub Klepis was a  very poor first rounder...And even though he had the talent and got the points, Alexei Yashin was such an *sshole that he ultimately has to be considered a bust...And an honourable mention is given to Ray Emery...

  4. For me being a ducks fan it absolutely has to be Stanislav Chistov. so much hype coming into the nhl but had nothing to show for it. a true dissapointment.

  5. People keep telling me it's Jimmy Waite................so I'm going with Jimmy Waite!

  6. Marco Sturm, Wayne Primeau, and  Brad Stuart still aren't as good as Joe Thornton... Hal Gill too, Hal Gill is the worst 7 footer ever... he lets people stand infront of the net and he shoots at his own players (right Pens fans? finda  lane if yr gonna shoot you big dunce!))... I dunno about before the 70s but those are my picks.  B's were good before the strike/cap.... cept for Gill.

  7. yea dc got it jagr btw since he didnt get far enough in the playoffs the caps dont have to pay him anymore

  8. Undisputed worst draft pick ever:  Alexander Daigle.

The Sens passed up on Pronger and Kariya for this tub of lard.

  9. There have been a few on my team , the Panthers. Recently, Gary Roberts and Todd Bertuzzi. Both brought in and got injured pretty quick. So they contributed a big zero to the team and they both got traded away. But as for someone that was actually supposed to be a big thing on our team it has to be Chris Wells. He was "the player" in the Stu Barnes trade. He was a 6' 6 traffic cone. He was a winger too . He did nothing. That trade is still referred to as "the trade" down here.

  10. Any team that's been as long as the CH is bound to have a few. I have to nominate Alfie Turcotte for this one especially when you consider what was expected of him.

(It was my understanding this was among draft picks made by one's favourite team. If it was meant otherwise let me know so I can modify my answer)

  11. Teemu Salanne for the avs. He only scored about 16 goals after many injuries for more than 9 million a year

  12. As a minnesota wild fan this is a no brainer.....Marian Gaborik!

  13. Keith Primeau in Detroit.  Way too much hype, not enough results.

One 70-point season (31 G, 42 A) in 6 seasons, one Cup Final (loss) with Detroit... the Wings won back-to-back after he was traded for Shanny.

  14. Todd Bertuzzi for the Wings.

  15. Kris Draper.  The guy misses the net so much there is no way he was worth what we gave up to get him.  Sure the guy is a great grinder, excellent setup guy and a great worker, but seriously, we could have spent that $1 on a double cheesburger or something instead :P

Signing Beretuzzi a couple years back didn't really work out well/at all for the Wings.  The dude was never the same after that long suspension and a couple injuries.

  16. Jaromir Jagr he really f***ed us with awful play in exchange for what was the the biggest contract in franchise history.

  17. eric lindros-

recieved from nordiques in echange for Peter Forsberg, Ron Hextall, Chris Simon, Mike Ricci, Kerry Huffman, Steve Duchesne, a 1st round selection (Jocelyn Thibault) in 1993, a 1st round selection (later traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs, later traded to the Washington Capitals - Nolan Baumgartner) in 1994, and $15,000,000.

The man never played one full season, never brought us that supposed "cup," absolutely ruined team chemistry, and made a mockery of hockey toughness.  meanwhile the Avs won the cup twice literally due to that trade.

  18. Uwe Krupp for the Wings.

  19. I'm not sure about ENTIRE history, but Konstantin Koltsov is always the first name that comes to mind when I hear "bust"

  20. Jason Bonsignore -- 4th overall. GG Oilers.

but I can't really talk ****... that entire first round sucked aside from Ryan Smyth.... who we drafted anyway.
