  3. I'm guessing you mean Texas Hold'em starting hands.

    Basically, a really rough rule is that you should play any pocket pair, any hand that in blackjack would add up to 20 or better.

    A beginner would do well to stick with these hands.  Obviously pocket pairs become far less value when they are less than tens.  You should not be limping with good hands, you should generally be raising.

    Be careful about playing weaker hands from early position.

    There is a LOT more to it that some of these basic rules, and even these rules are situational.  But as far as it goes, this should give you a starting point.

  6. here are the hand rankings from worst to best and you can decide which is a good hand for yourself. everyone has their own opinion as to what is a good hand so you would have to choose for yourself what is good. here they are now with example in ( )

    low ball - no pairs ( A K 10 9 7 )

    one pair ( AA K 6 5)

    two pair (KK QQ A)

    three/kind ( JJJ 9 8 )

    straight ( 5 6 7 8 9 - can be any suit, A can be used in an A hi such as AKQJ10, or lo as in A2345)

    flush (AK1093 - all five cards same suit, best flush is determined by highest card in hand)

    full house (AAA 10 10 - combination of three/kind and a pair)

    four/kind (AAAA 6)

    straight flush ( 7 8 9 10 J - all five cards in order and same suit)

    royal flush ( AKQJ10 - all five cards same suit)
