Polymer are made up of large molecules and have high strength between the bonding. Polymers are resistance to biological and chemical attack because they are not produced naturally. Discarded plastic bags can fill the landfill sites and when burn't it can produce toxic fumes. Therefore polymer should be recycles and re-used.

I did a project for my polymer graduate course on scrap tires... They're made of vulcanized rubber, which is a polymer (polyisoprene). Lots of information on the topic.
