  1. ludo

  2. ludo

The Latin word for play is ludo ludere. Ludo is also an inflected form of the Latin noun that means "a game."

What's interesting to me that ludus, the word for game, is the same as the Latin word for school. That is a whole different way of looking at school than our American way of looking at it!

  3. Ludo (from Latin ludus, "I play") is a simple children's board game for two to four players, in which the players race their four tokens from start to finish according to die rolls. The game is a simplification of the traditional Indian Cross and Circle game Pachisi. It originally appeared in 1896. The game was patented in England. In the Caribbean, the game is usually called Ludi. In Sweden, the game is called "Fia", with the loser of the game (last one to have all four tokens to the finish line) called Fia.
