What portable medical device is the best?

I mean to say which portable medical device checks on more aspects of your health and has more functions.

X-ray machines are rolled right up to your bedside.  A routine xray of her lungs just found a cancer in my friend's thyroid.  She walked in feeling perfectly healthy and 3 days later had 1/2 of her thyroid removed.  It probably saved her life.

Think of all the broken bones that have been mended better thanks to xrays.  And all the pennies that have been swallowed by toddlers.
