  1. Well, it seems like you are wondering what position you will play in high school. So I am assuming you don't have a position yet or haven't played much volleyball. Your coach will probably try you out as a middle hitter/blocker just becuase of your height. But, anyone can play any position in volleyball depending on your skills. Although, typically tall people are hitters (usually a middle hitter) and shorter people are liberos.

  2. since you have the height, you will probably play middle, left or opposite hitter, or they may put you as blocker which usually includes hitting, but make sure you work hard in the other areas too

  3. middle blocker outside hitter or if ur really really good @ setting or passing become the seter or labaro

  4. ususally in volleyball they do play in the middle. if they arent as good they are usually in the back. or not playing at all. but on my previous team they either put the tallest in the middle anywhere else in the front. it depends how well you play a certain position

  5. Well, the tallest person usually plays middle. But not always, the middle blocks at every position, so it helps out when they're tall. It could be the highest jumper also.

  6. The middle blocker is generally the tallest on the team. You can also be a very good right side hitter if you're tall (especially if you're left-handed). Setters and right sides are usually kind of tall, height is good for basically anything but defense. Setter and right side are a little more difficult if you don't have a lot of experience, though.

  7. umm usally they play middle hitter/blocker

  8. GO OUT FOR HITTING!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Typically, the tallest on the team would a middle blocker/hitter. Any position can be played by someone tall, but many are middles.

  10. I wouldn't worry about it. The coach will move you to whatever position you're best suited for and what works best for the team. However, typically, the taller players are put in middle or right side because those two spots shoulder the majority of the blocking responsibilty.

  11. im in your situation and it really depends, tall people typically play middle like me, but i have also met middles that are about 5'7 and still do an amazing job! but typically tall people are outside or middle, because they must block

  12. anything if ur tall! but libero is not sugested

  13. middle hitter/blocker

  14. the blocker usually or maybe even a setter..

it all depends on what skills you are good at and if they need you ...

    =]

    good luck.. have fun!

best of luck. my wishes to ya!

  15. probably middle hitter and blocker but it all depends on what you are good at

  16. it doesnt really matter what your hieght...

we had a girl who was 6ft and was setter.

it just is what you can do best in.

  17. Ummm...you dont play positions in Vollyball...it is considered cheating to stay in one position for more than one turn. After you get ur turn to serve the ball you rotate to the front of the court where u have to set or spike it, after playing in the front you rotate to the middle where you have to bump or set the ball, and then you rotate to the back again and it starts from the beginning with serving.

  18. middle blocker or anything you find you are good at and you like

  19. Middle blocker, but at 5'11 you would still be a great height of an outside hitter or setter too. In volleyball its good to be tall all across the court!

  20. Usually taller girls will play middle because they have shorter, quicker sets and so they are tall enough that they don't have to jump super high. Also, they are there because they are tall enough to block the ball and get from each side of the net and cover the area better. However, I have seen very tall girls play setter because they get to the ball sooner than someone who is shorter and it gives tall hitters an advantage and also I have seen tall right side hitters. I once met a girl that was about 6'3 or taller that played right side and man, she could kill it like no other so tall girls aren't always in the middle but usually. They can also be the outside (left) hitters, being tall over there is good for blocking and hitting as well but if you come right down to it, height in volleyball is just plain good anywhere. Just for info, they usually don't play in the back, they can get switched out or substituted for someone who is better at backrow because taller girls can't get o nthe floor and get to the ball as quick as someone closer to the floor or shorter can but that depends on the level of play because college players are supposed to be good all around anyways. You're so lucky to have that height advantage :]

  21. I have noticed a trend in recent years to put the tallest player as an outside hitter.  Outside hitters get more swings at the ball and it only makes sense to have your biggest player swinging the most.  Middles tend to be the medium size players that are quick and have good jumping ability to get a lot of blocks.  At 5'11" are you the tallest on the team or one of the shorter players?  I have seen both kinds of teams...
