Question:

What position in basketball?

I'm going to try out for my high school basketball team but I don't know which position to try out for. Definitely not Center or PG because I'm not that tall, and I'm ok at handling the ball. I am a good passer and have good lay ups. I'm pretty good at shots and rebounds, despite my height. I weigh 145 pounds. Not very fast. So I suppose Small forward or Shooting Guard. What does it sound like I'd be good at.

  1. well u sound like a shooting gaurd, but im a shooting gaurd and u need to be able to score and u gotta be fast. your like a SG/SF your mixed in the 2 positions. what i do to get better for the season is play 4 hours a day and also watch alot of videos u can learn from gannon baker and alot of other great coaches. jus wor at your weak points u know u can shoot pass reabound and alot of stuff but for a shooting gaurd u need handles watch videos of main event he teaches ball handleing really well. trust me man gettin better in handles is hard u really gotta work. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMEej63cG...

  2. u aint a guard

  3. Small Foward

  4. I think u should go for power forward and u would beast. but u would reallly have to work to get stronger because your shorter. u would be a very versile forward if you could shoot and make lay ups..your defender couldnt let u shoot but if he played to close ud go rite b him. ud b like kevin garnett(good shooter) i guess.

or just try out and see whatever they put u in. but before tryouts you gotta work realllly hard.

    good luck

  5. Don't try out for a position, just try to make the team and get the coaches to put you in a position.

  6. Being not that tall with ball handling and passing skills I'd put you at PG or SG if I was your coach.  That's just me though.

  7. 2 guard
