What position should i play rugby?

im 5'8-5'9 165 pounds ( gaining weight )

our school has a brand new team ( well we had junior teams last and this year next year is our 1st senior team) and im going to try out next year

im good at running with the ball good passing ( vision from football and basketball)

and i love running with the ball juking breaking tackles

i have a lower center of gravity since im pretty short but i have good agility and balance so im hard to wrap up / bring down

and im pretty fast ( not the fastest but above average )

  1. Definitely stay in the backs. If you do break tackles easily and can pass well, I'd look at 2nd 5 or centre. I think your talents would be wasted on the wing.


  2. scrumhalf / halfback, depending on where you're from. I think you'd be explosive round that scrum!

    i would say inside/outside centre

    these positions require running the ball up at the line, making brakes and being part of plays, and unloading the ball quickly.

    your lower centre or gravity will help you in defence as well

    also a fun position

  4. i'd  have to say at a high school an easy transition of those sports to rugby would b e winger depending upon how fast you are
