  1. Straight away I thought Full Back. A full Back needs all the attributes you described. a good kick, strong in the tackle, Quick nippy and agile and most of all you need to have bundles of courage !!

But go to your loacal club ad have fun your coach will decide your best position, but I think you'll find you maywell change position as you get older i know I did, I started at inside centre the scrum half and now I play at No.8 and sometimes even Lock !!!

  2. out half/ fly half

    maybe winger if ur quick

  3. Scrum Half

  4. well lotsa pple i know play rugby and say you should be scrumhalf cuz you prob one of the smallest on the team as you are 14 and 5''2', or fly half cuz of your kicking and accuracy and could be a full backcuz you say you strong and brave but you may be on the small side for that, but who knows my bro played that position and he quite small for his age or flank might work!!

  5. must agree with hedgey even though i am a league follower

go to the club and let the coach decide but be dedecated and enjoy

  6. scrumhalf

  7. How old are you mate?

  8. i would say that yuor best position would be fly half, but also you could be good at scrum half. i would say the best position to choose when you start playing rugby is the ing because it is one of the easiest positions to play in rugby then work getting yourself better at the position you desire you want it to be.

when i started rugby my coach put me in a position and then i changed position to one that more suited me. so your coach may put you in lots of different positions until he/she finds which position you are the best at.  if i was the coach i would definately put you as a fly half.

  9. Fullback since you're good at kicking or if you can pass good scrum half or fly half... or if you are slow and bigger then hooker

  10. I am 14 and and 5.11 (I play lock)

so I'm thinking you are not exactly tall.

if you have good kicks a full back or scrum half could be good.

if you are fast as well go to wing or full back.

if you have good passing ability go to scrum half.

You can work on being fast and passing so your choice really.

  11. Hey chap it does sound like you would do just fine in the backs you could try full back.

However, I would go along to training and see what happens.  The coaches will advise the best place for you to start playing.  (you don't necessarily have to stay in that position) but at least you can start training and playing and find out where you would like to play and where your skills lie.

The coaches won't mind if you turn up and say you don't have a position we all have to start some where :-)

  12. Hi mate. If you think your quick you could play winger as its very useful to have a winger who can back up a full back with good kicking skills as well as being able to take a high ball. i play full back and our left winger is the same size and is good at kicking and we work very well together. If your not so quick maybe scrum half or maybe in the future a move to fly half once your knowledge of the game improves. Just make sure you go out there and have fun

  13. Go along to the club with an open mind and tell the coach that you've never played before.  Train with the other boys and let the coach decide where you will be best suited, it won't take him long.

Don't worry about looking daft because all of us had to start somewhere.  You'll find that rugby clubs are great places to be, really friendly, and full of people who will be only too willing to help you along with good advice.  You'll also find some of the best mates you'll ever have.

    Go on, enjoy yourself!
