What position will I need to be in while getting a tatton on my side?

I want to get a tattoo on my side at about chest level. Under the armpit kind of. What position will I be in while getting this tattoo? On my side? On my back? I just want to be prepared...thank you! OH...I'm a girl...I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not lol

What difference does it make?  You are more concerned with what position you will be in than the fact you are about to permamantely tattoo something on your body that you will have to live with the rest of your life.  Wonder what it will look like when you are 80 and all saggy and wrinkled?
