Question:

What position would suit me?

Right, recently got into a talent squad...

I've only been playing properly for a season and have played scrum half from that, the coach at the squad has told me i'd make a good wing.

my stats

age - 16

height - 5' 2.5"

weight - 105 lbs

not much muscle but I can put in tackles

I'm very fast (and modest lol), can read the game well, have good hands, good stepping, can kick (played football/soccer since I could walk) and I'm not afraid to dive for the line...

What's your opinion on the 2 positions? Also are there any other positions that might suit me...fly half maybe? meh

  1. it seems to me that u shud play either

    scrum half

    fly half

    or wing

im arround the same stats as u just im a few inches taller

  2. you should be a hooker, cuz of your weight, height and speed

  3. inside or outside centre

if your quick and can step

    or maybe lock

  4. By the sound of it your not that big but pretty fast and have good skills so probaly a running halfback.

  5. Well, if your tackling is good, then that is always a plus, no matter what position.

I don't advise hooker. You have the height but you need the weight and/or a lot more strength than you have now.

Reading the game is always a plus as well.

Your coach probably knows best at least 95% of the time unless you are hiding a skill or something... not adviseable to hide skills from coaches. They see you play, they know your skills.

Honestly, scrummie sounds like a good position for you. Go to the gym and workout to get good muscle. If you are a good tackler under pressure, then maybe go for full back.

If you like wing, go for it, but realize that you may not get much ball time. A wing who can tackle is an assest for getting the other teams super speedy wing down when the case arises.

  6. Anywhere in the backline. Find a position you prefer and go for that.

  7. id say wing, but if ur a strong runner u might want to try center. or even fullback. basicly you could do everything in the back line. try out a few positions and do what you like best.

  8. Scrum-half, fly-half, wing or perhaps even full back.

  9. Fullback or wing, two key positions which use kicking and tackling. Fullback would be the most appropriate, as you can read the play, return the ball (by running or kicking) and you can make the crucial tackle that stops the try.

  10. Positions that'd suit you

    Pos 1. Wing

    Pos 2. Hooker

    Pos 3. Scrum Half

    Pos 4. Centre

    Pos 5. Fly Half

    Pos 6. Flanker

    Pos 7. Second Row

    Pos 8. Full Back

    Pos 9. Number 8

    Pos 10. Prop

  11. I would probably say full back if what you said of your characteristics is not to modest otherwise wing should be pretty good. I wouldn't advise hooker right now as you said that the strength wasn't quite there yet.

    Hope it helps

  12. Although your height and size is fitting for hooker...You may be better suited for a flanker (if you want to be in the fowards) because of your speed and your tackling ability, but more than likely, I would say wing would DEFINITELY suit you, if you're very fast with good hands....if you have really good agility to go along with your kicks and are confident enough with your tackling, I'd say you could also probably play fulback. scrum half and flyhalf probably would also work for you. Good luck!!

  13. you should be a fullback becuase you are fast and if you can make good tackles it would be good to have a fast tackler in the back in case anyone breaks loose.

  14. personally i would say centre coz tht would involve u using ur speed, takle and side step and that would make the game more fun 4 u but if u wanted to be in the fowards i would say flanker coz ov ur tackle u can hit any rogue scrumhalfs tht come ur way or any broken off 8's.
