What positive impacts do early christian martyrs have on our lives today?

They definitely give us examples to look up to, but they also are one of the ways we know that Jesus really rose from the dead.  If people just made it up, then they would not have been willing to die for ia lie but since they KNEW that Jesus was who He said He was, they sacrificed their lives.  Seeing as the Resurrection is one of (if not the) most important parts of our faith, it can give us confidence that what we believe in is true.

This must be for a religion class?  

Those who died for the cause did so because somethings are worth dying for.  Their faith in God could not be changed, nor would they renounce their beliefs even under pain of death.  

It's what we call today "the courage of one's convictions", to pay any price for your principles.  To stand up for what you believe in, & to give your life if need be.  It may not always be the easy way, but for some, it is the only way.

They remind us to be passionate about what we believe in.  Inspire us to do what is right in the face of extreme pressure.  Convict us about how good we have it.
