What positive things can be said for State Farm if you can last 3 years or more?

I read lots of negatives about SF but they must be doing something right. Tell me more as I consider a carerr as an Agent. Thanks.

I have a close relationship with my old state farm agent, and have had that for more than 20 years.  The company itself is very dependent on the agent him/herself as to how effective they can be.

That being said...if you are going to work for them, closely look at the requirements they have for your savings accounts.  Also realize that they have been known to place large moratoriums on certain legs of the business (Homeowners in MS and LA post-katrina), taking away a large portion of that area's business.

I had the chance to go to work for them, but I chose a different company that better fit my needs and goals (metlife).

What’s so negative about State Farm?  I’ve worked closely with them for the last three years, with major issues, and when I bought a house, I chose them as my insurance company because they have one of the most lenient dog policies I could find.

I have had state farm since I was 16- i am 24 now.  I work for Farmers and i have not and will not change to them. Farmers has had 3 rate increases in the past year so they tend to be more expensive for clients.  I absolutely love state farm.  but then again it also depends on your agent.
