  1. They have hatred and anger

  2. It's probably something like a god complex - a way of asserting that we are really powerful and superior, It's the same thing that causes men to be cruel to women - physical superiority. Exerting aggressive control over a living being that is weaker than you makes you feel more powerful and invincible. Why does God wreck our lives? Send us natural disasters and catastrophes? Same reason

  3. I hate cruelty to animals, even wgen i see kids pulling legs off of daddy long legs.

People are cruel to animals because animals are pretty much defenceless. I witnessed a man kicking his dog, he kicked it so viciously that the poor thing hid under a car.

I screamed at him to stop and he told me to mind my own F******  business, another neighbour was trying to pull him away.

He went back into his house and after a lot of coaxing we got the dog out. We then waited for what seemed like an eternity for the RSPCA, they took the dog and it was re homed.

The man was fined £100 and banned from keeping dogs for 5 years.

    Not really justice is it?

  4. Wait...aren't human beings animals?

So, what possesses animals to be cruel to animals?

I had a cat that ate it's offspring.  So, I guess she was a feminist.

  5. They probably harbor some unexplained animosity that happend to them in their youth and find release by picking on weaker beings.  I don't trust anybody that is cruel to animals.  Unfortunately there are a lot of these people out there.  Just recently someone in my area smashed a cat's head with a cinder block and lit it on fire because it was "annoying with it's meowing."  There is a place for these people and it's called h**l.

  6. They are bullies and need to pick on something helpless and defenceless to make them feel better.

  7. Research seems to indicate those that are cruel to animals are much more likely to become serial killers of humans.  This is probably due to a lack of ability to empathize with not only animals, but humans too.  Most psychopaths are never imprisoned because most do not commit a crime they can be arrested for.  The psychopath (sociopath) have varying degrees of this disorder & unless it is also accompanied with impulsiveness or another brain malfunction, they operate as a "normal" person in most respects.

Because humans are omnivoirs that require high protien foods to survive (or a special mix of vegetables) killing animals is necessary.  However some have no ability to empathize with others & even enjoy seeing other creatures suffer.

  8. Pretty one, as a member of PETA, a vegetarian, a humanist, and an atheist, your question has jetted across my brain many, many times. Thanks for asking it. I wish I had an answer.

  9. Depends what you mean by cruelty.

Do you mean eat them, wear their skins, commercially exploit them or fail to spend considerable sums of money on vetenary treatment?

The first three are not regarded as cruel by law enforcement and the last one is the one that animal welfare organisations are most interested in, however this type of organisation receives a lot of funding from vetenary practices.

I know a lot of people don't want to hear it, but animal welfare is an industry and it's organised to benefit those who pay for it.  What you see on reality TV programs about this type of organisation are carefully chosen examples, but you get some sense of how they operate.  Their vet facilities are among the most expensive available & they will never offer low income families low cost vet care, but they will assemble outside some disadvantaged family's house and harrass them for hours on end (day after day in my experience) for failing to hand over vet receipts for their elderly pets.
