Question:

What possible careers are there for someone with a maths degree, other than teaching and accountancy?

Uni prospectuses always suggest teaching and accountancy under "possible careers" but neither of these particularly appeal! However, I enjoy maths and would be interested in doing a maths (possibly with philosophy) degree. I just need some ideas for where I would be able to go after that.

  8. Quantitative analysts in the City earn a lot of money. Maths degrees essential to pricing etc, of financial instruments.  Usually PhD level.
