The big thing is that you are always connected, so there is more time for hacking.  Make sure you get a router.  Unless you really make somebody angry, if you have a router and install the security software provided by your ISP, you should be fine.  Comcast gives you McAfee for free.  Just about all broadband ISPs give you anti virus, anti spyware, and a firewall with your service, but you have to make sure you install it.

None. All internet threats can come from any connection, but the most secure way is to buy a hardware firewall because it can't be hacked.
