its all about how you wire the subs to the amp you need a two channel amp and bridge the subs to the amp. Look on both the amps for a RMS number that is the number of watts it will  push at a constant rate the higher the better.

All things being equal, the more power your amp can put out, the harder it will "hit".

So, same brand to same brand, a 1300W will hit harder.

Differing brands it can get a little harder to determine, the Kicker very well could sound better to  you when installed than the hifonics. Just like cars, some manufacturers will over(or under) rate their numbers.
