What power plug do I need in India?

I'm traveling to Delhi on business. What plug type do I need for my laptop? (USA-style plug, UK, European, etc)

  1. The plugs in India are different from US, UK, European, Australian, Singaporean plugs. It would be difficult to find an Indian plug outside India (in the countries that I mentioned above). The best option would be to buy an adaptor once you are in India. You can get adaptors for UK, US, European, Australian, Singaporean plugs. You will be able to get that from any Electrial appliances/accesories shop in India. You can try at the Indian airport as well.


  2. INDIA (220VAC/50Hz)

    India has standardised on a plug which was originally defined in British Standard 546 (the standard in the United Kingdom before 1962). It is rated at 15 amps and is also used in Nepal, parts of Southern Africa, and other areas electrified by the British.

    It's a 3 prong but not like ours
