  1. Ask them...

  2. Belgium has a constitutional monarchy, which means the king works with an elected government, much like the Queen of the UK.

Their official site( http://www.monarchie.be/en/monarchy/func... ) says:

"In the political domain, the King does not act by exercizing personal power without the cooperation of ministers. The King acts by expressing opinions, encouraging, and making suggestions and warnings to players in the political arena. His perspective is that of continuity, long-term objectives, "grand designs" in which the country and the State must engage. It is through dialogue with all those involved in the political decision-making that the King exerts his influence.

That explains why the King often sees not only the political world as such, but also everything that counts in the country. Contacts whose content remains confidential are a precious source of information for him, and a means of exerting his influence. The importance and impact of this political action by the King vary depending on the circumstances and at the pace of public life. It is and must remain constant. But there are times when the role of the King, while remaining covered by ministerial responsibility, is perceived much more clearly. These are periods when a government is being formed.

Moreover, the Presidents of regional and community governments take the oath before the King. He also grant an audience to the members of the regional and community governments. "

  3. They are able to launch a nuclear strike against Luxembourg.

  4. As my history lessons have taught me...

Royalty used to have all the power to do as they please.

This power was eventually divided in:

-"rechtspraak" (Court, power has been given to judges)

-"making laws and making sure they're enforced" (Parlement)

-the king himself had one right left but tbh, i forgot what it was...

  5. Today the Kings of Belgium are very careful. They exercise no powers at all. In the past -- the recent past -- any show of independence  was immediately protested. The last king of Belgium who displayed any intelligence, valor, and leadership was King Albert, who led his country's army into battle during the First World War. After the war, he died in a mountain-climbing accident. Since then Belgium has caromed from one crisis to another, from global war to internal disagreements, so deep and wounding it may mean the end of the country, which, after all is one of the youngest in Europe.
