  1. Graviety is one of the fundamental forces of the universe. It is known as the Gravitational law of attraction. Any two masses in the universe attract one another but based on variables such as the magnitude of each of the mass' mass and the distance between the objects determines the strength of gravitational attraction. For instance if your currently on earth, then you and the mass of earth are attracting one another producing graviety. But you are also attracted to all other masses in the universe such as lets say your computer. Its jsut because the mass of earth is so large that the magnitude of the force of attraction between the computer and earth supersedes the weak force between you and the computer.

  2. That's actually one of the leading questions in theoretical physics today.  Much of the work going on with the Large Hadron Collider and other particle accelerators is looking for the graviton, a gravity-carrying particle that "powers" gravity in much the same way that photons "power" electromagnetism.  Be careful, though: when you ask what "powers" gravity, that seems to imply that you're looking for a separate power source that gravity draws energy from in order to work.  Gravity is not powered in this sense - it simply *is*, and a complete description of why gravity exists at all would take a good deal more detail than one can fit into a Yahoo! answer.

  3. Gravity is the weakest of the four fundamental forces, yet dominants the universe and shapes the structure of galaxies, stars, solar systems, etc.

In Newtonian mechanics, gravity is a force of attraction between two masses. In Einstein's General Relativity, gravity is a property of matter that curves the fabric of space-time.

Note that Newtonian mechanics requires two masses to be in proximity to produce a gravitational force. The same is not true in General Relativity, in which a gravitational well is present whether or not a 2nd mass is present.
