  1. Repo man? if you own money and there is a lein on the car/truck

drugs? did you buy or sell drugs? did you have drugs in possession?

your car can be impounded and sold at auction.

no insurance, proper paper work, pink slip, insurance

This is a police state and there is many local laws that supersede the Federal Laws.

  2. Driving your car without Tax,MOT Insurance or a License

  3. There are any number of ways in which it can be properly seized.  For instance, if a court issues a search warrant authorizing the search of the car, or if the car itself is evidence in a criminal prosecution or if the car was used to commit a crime it can be foreited.  Then there are taxation issues.   if you want a complete list of all circumstances in which your car can end up in the custody of the police that is simply impossible.  If you have some more specific question, feel free to ask.

  4. lots;

    lets see ?

    parking

    dui

    tags

    registration

    expired liscence

    an accident

    drugs in the car

  5. Any powers they want.

    They have the SWAT squad.

  6. They have every right to seize your vehicle, without tax or insurance. you are a danger on the roads, it pays not to drive on the cheap.

  7. ABSOLUTELY NONE

So long as your vehicle is taxed, MOT'd insured and not parked in a place clearly signed as a prohibited or restricted zone.

Putting your hazards on while on double yellows will not cloak your car to the authorities - they'll still clamp it or tow it away :-)

  8. If you have no tax or insurance they have the right to remove your vehicle from the highway but you can claim it back.

  9. If the vehicle has been involved in a crime or suspected of it the cops can not only seize it but they can strip it right back to the bare steel for evidence.

  10. If you can't produce required documents (tags, insurance, registration) they can remove it from the street.  If you are incapable of operating the vehicle and there is no other driver, they will have it towed.

And then there is "probable cause".  If they have reason to believe that vehicle has been used in a crime, stolen, involved in an accident, or contains contraband of any kind....any of these can get your car seized.  Oh, and don't forget illegal parking.
