  1. don't push too hard, don't push too lightly

  2. Ask the local computer guy to do it.

    You need professional help.

  3. Remove all the half empty cans of Mt. dew from your desk.

  4. 1 - Unplug everything from the computer. Power cord, peripherals, everything. This is the rule of thumb for installing anything.

2 - Hold the card by the edges. Do NOT touch any of the circuitry on the board. Your body builds up static electricity just from walking around, and if you touch any of these circuits you could discharge that static and damage your video card (same goes for anything else in your computer). If there's a heatsink, hold onto that so you don't accidentally touch the circuit board.

3 - You'll need to put a good amount of pressure on the card to get it all the way into the slot, but if it isn't going in don't try to force it - pull it out, re-align it and try again.

4 - Make sure you have enough power to keep everything in your PC running smoothly. For example, if you're installing something like an 8800 GT, you'll want at least a 500 or 600 W power supply. Also make sure your power supply has a PCIe connector if the video card needs one.

5 - Video cards rarely ship with the latest versions of the drivers on the install disc, so go to the manufacturer's website when you're done and download them. The drivers on the disc could have bugs or issues that have been solved in later releases. This isn't really a precaution, just a good habit to get into.

  5. Disconnect all power.  Ground yourself to avoid any static sparks. Make sure the computer power supply is discharged as well.

  6. Basic process:

    - First and foremost, ensure that the new card matches your system requirements

    - Put the new video card CD-ROM into the CD bay before you turn off your computer

    - Power your computer down.

    -unplug your desk top

    - Open case (ensure you do not touch and integrated circuits or hit any power connectors from the power supply

    - locate video card in the AGP slot or PCI Express slot. Most have locking mechanisms that hold the video card securly in the slot. Make sure you hold the mechanism back while you gently remove the card

    - replace with the new card.  If your new card has a build in cooling fan, ake sure you connect the power connector from the power supply

-Put your desk top case cover back on.

-Plug desk top cord back into the electrical receptacle

    - Power on. At boot, your BIOS should detect a new card and your OS will run PNP hardware wizzard.  When asked where you want it to run from, select the CD_ROM Drive

-complete the installation (this willl load the drivers and necessary files)

    -wala, your done

  7. make sure that the pc is off and unplugged

ground yourself so you do not cause static electricity

grab a phillips head screwdriver and unscrew old card.

remove old card and insert new card (do not force it)

    s***w new card in place

    close up pc

    hook power back up,reboot pc

    now go to start..run..type in..........devmgmt.msc

    press enter

scroll down until you see...display adapters

that is where you will see if your card is working

    if you need drivers

    search here

    or here

  8. First, remove the PCI slot back cover. Next, Push the card into the slot, not too hard and make sure you push it till it is completely in the slot. If your Graphic card slot has a lock a click will be heard when it is correctly inserted. s***w the free rear end of the Graphic card properly.

    Other precautions:-

1.Don't keep ANY LIQUIDS around your computer.

2.Dont mix drinking and driving.... i mean assembling....

3.Don't push too hard. If it doesn't fit, remove it and re-insert it.

4.Keep pets away from the computer. (Make sure your fido doesn't drool.)

    Ohh well you're done :-)
