Nothing big enough to eat you, but we have bugs that bite and snakes that most of us have never seen the whole world worries about.  Take bug spray and splash around a bit before you get in and wear your sunblock, your danger probably lies in the sunburn possibilities rather than being chewed up by anything bigger than an insect.
