  1. different people have different cultures,i think the gift you send to friends far away from your hometown should express your country's culture.some thing man_made can be bought everywhere.so,for you, something which can best show your country culture is the best option.

  2. I had a hard time with that as well, because Chinese people can pretty much get the same things we can get in the US (can't say for sure about Britain).  Something British would be best, a nice shirt with English on it, or if the person speaks English, a good book to read.  When I lived in China, I had a hard time finding good books to read in English.  I could find the classics, but I missed a good, entertaining, or funny read.  Incidentally, the only thing I found that I could get in the US and people in China couldn't was good bug spray (with deet).  I could bring them traditional American foods, but often they didn't know what to do with it anyway.

  3. send a pretty girl, haha ,if your friend a men.

  4. Something British and unique...

It depends on what your friend is like, if there older they may like custom food or sweetsmore than anything else.

My flatmate likes T-shirts that I buy for her from the London store at Heathrow airport. They have I love London written in many lanunages or the words Angel inside a London underground logo.

    Another friend wanted English tea....

My co-workers like quality sweets and rose and such like.

If there a young female then cute teddy bears in Buckingham palace guards uniform maybe good for them.

  5. Try something unique. Thats best bet. They prefer those.
