What present to buy?

i'm going to canada. i'm from russia. What present or souvenir to buy to the host family???

if you can cook I always think a meal is a great way to thank people, and show a little bit of your culture. (I would be grateful for a bottle of vodka but that depends on the host family of course) don't spend too much money on some gaudy candle or anything.

Buy something that can only be found in Russia. It need not be expensive, but anything that is uniquely Russian, and something that your host can use and keep it as a memento. My idea: Throw in all sorts of little souvenirs in a little hamper (ornaments, a set of keychains/fridge magnets, scarves with Russian designs, Russian recipe book, etc.).

Alternatively, if you are a good cook, you can cook some Russian meals for them in Canada! That'd be nice too.
