Why can't food safety (bacteria free) be stressed?

  2. Nothing at all that I can see. They have certainly done everything possible to sell us on the war in Iraq. Perhaps food safety is just not as important to them. I do not believe it would be such a hard sell. Most people understand the benefits of X-rays and understand the relative safety of them.

    Not such a giant leap in my opinion.

  3. Because irradiated food is completely un-natural.  For the life of me I cannot figure out why people are so utterly terrified of bacteria and germs.  Irradiating the food kills those germs...the bad ones AND THE GOOD ONES.  It does not take long to start loosing your immunities.

    So what will you do if all you eat is irradiated food, and then eat something not irradiated.  You could become VERY ill, because you body no longer has natural immunity to the bacteria and germs.

    Not at all healthy or natural to eat irradiated foods.

    Remember the fresh spinach the had ecoli, and made a lot of people VERY ill, and killed some of them?

    I was eating the exact spinach, the lot numbers, correct dates, ect that was the tainted spinach.  Difference is, I live on a farm.  I'm in daily physical contact with my livestock.  I'm constantly exposed to tiny amounts of fecal matter, and ecoli.  I didn't become ill in the slightest.  

    When city folks come to my farm, I do not feed them all the same healthy things my husband and I eat.  I know I could make them very ill.  No raw goats milk, or raw vegtables from out garden for them.  

    If people begin eating irradiated foods, they will become even more suceptable to bacteria and germs they could tolerate once upon a time.

    Americans are now mostly three generations removed from agricultural life.  The farther removed they become from agriculture, the weaker their immune systems seem to become.  Asthma, allergies...all becoming bigger problems as people loose their natural immunities to nature by living in the artificial environments of houses, offices, and the mall.

    Frankly, its better to keep people exposed to some bacteria.  Otherwise if a tainted something-or-ruther does slip through, the kill rate will be close to 100%.

  4. I agree with the above. And don't worry about any thumb downs I get them all the time. It seems Ignorant Club of America lets their members on here from time to time. It's kind of like why people eventually die off of drips. We can give them every nutrient we know and they still eventually die. So, apparantly there is something in natural food we don't know about and it is vital to our survival.

Because most people don't understand radiation, and think only worst when they see or hear that word.  As far as most people are concerned, irradiating a piece of meat is the same as having it sit at ground zero during a nuclear explosion.   Both will make their kids retarded and turn them into mutants.

Irradiating food is relatively simple and is safe.  You are exactly right, what is needed is education of the public about irradiation   and it's use on making our foods safe.  As soon as they try this you can bet Greenpeace and their type will appear and say we are all being killed and deformed by irradiation.  You can see where they are on GM crops, expect the same for irradiation.  But we should not let groups like this to control progress on a system that can make our food safe.
