I cannot go to the wedding ceremony or reception for my co-worker and was wondering what is a good price range for a gift. We are co-workers, have no outside relationship. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

  1. Since you have no outside relationship, keeping it simple would be fine.  I'd say stick between $20-$30.

  2. a card is fine if not attending

  3. Nothing extravagant, since you are coworkers and not best friends. No more than $30, I would say, but you should give whatever price range you feel comfortable with.

  4. Since you are not attending the wedding, really any gift would be fine.  You could either get a little something for them off of their registry in the 30-50 range or get a bargain type gift from Target or TJ Maxx (crystal bowl or vase).

But really, any gift you give would be a lovely gesture since you are simply co-workers and you aren't going to the wedding.

  5. $25 gift certificate at the store where they are registered...

    or...

If you can't really spend  money, a nice card with best wishes is also very nice.

  6. I am constantly invited to weddings and usually whether I attend or not I basically get everyone the same type of gift.  I probably haven't ever paid over $20 for any wedding gift.  I get a nice card and then I usually pick out a really pretty 8x10 picture frame (silver of course so that it is elegant looking) and I place it in a gift box with tissue paper and then wrap it really in elegant paper with a nice bow.  In my opinion presentation of the gift adds to the value of it.

Its the thought of the gift that counts not the value of the gift itself.

NOTE: I've seen the frame I've given each couple in almost every instance displayed in thier home with thier wedding photo.

  7. maybe $50 in cash or around the same price in a gift.  we had a small wedding but got cash gifts from a lot of ppl that were $50.  some were $20-$25.  so anything in that range.  we always give $50.
