I don't know specifically about middlesex (i'm in the north west), but if you contact your local LEA, you can ask if there are any strategic facilities for teaching children on the autistic spectrum, and they may help you. I got my son in our local autism experienced school by doing this. If he has a consultant paediatrician perhaps he/she could support your application?

  3. The National Autistic Society will be able to advise you of specialised schools in your area. Also try to talk to other parents of autistic children to find out their opinions on the best and worse schools, word of mouth is usually the best way of finding out how well these schools cater for children.
