Question:

What privilege does a man have that a woman does not?

Besides possibly being drafted and sent to a war, or giving up his seat on a lifeboat. Can you think of any benefits or privileges a man has that a woman does not?

Now, how many privileges and benefits do women have that men do not?

Note: This question only applies to Western Societies because white women seem to cry the most.

  1. There aren't any...

    "'"Why aren't they?"""

Because there are many flip-sides to many of the things on that list, therefore that list isn't accurate or creditable.

That list is pretty easy to debunk, really...

  2. A man can have multiple s*x partners without being called or thought of as a sl*t. Unless, of course, he's like me and unable to find even one woman who's willing to participate...

  3. Almost certainly they can hang around as the only male in a group of females and not even think that it could be an unsafe situation.

There isn't a woman around who has not had this situation and not had a hint of unpleasantness, and sometimes of course much much worse.

  4. Only white women live in western societies? News to me.

A few of the items on the "male privilege checklist" (there are more):

    1. My odds of being hired for a job, when competing against female applicants, are probably skewed in my favor. The more prestigious the job, the larger the odds are skewed.

    2. I can be confident that my co-workers won’t think I got my job because of my s*x - even though that might be true.

    3. If I am never promoted, it’s not because of my s*x.

    4. If I fail in my job or career, I can feel sure this won’t be seen as a black mark against my entire sex’s capabilities.

    5. I am far less likely to face sexual harassment at work than my female co-workers are.

    6. If I do the same task as a woman, and if the measurement is at all subjective, chances are people will think I did a better job.

    7. If I’m a teen or adult, and if I can stay out of prison, my odds of being raped are relatively low.

    8. On average, I am taught to fear walking alone after dark in average public spaces much less than my female counterparts are.

    9. If I choose not to have children, my masculinity will not be called into question.

    10. If I have children but do not provide primary care for them, my masculinity will not be called into question.

    11. If I have children and provide primary care for them, I’ll be praised for extraordinary parenting if I’m even marginally competent.

    12. If I have children and a career, no one will think I’m selfish for not staying at home.

    13. If I seek political office, my relationship with my children, or who I hire to take care of them, will probably not be scrutinized by the press.

    14. My elected representatives are mostly people of my own s*x. The more prestigious and powerful the elected position, the more this is true.

    15. When I ask to see “the person in charge,” odds are I will face a person of my own s*x. The higher-up in the organization the person is, the surer I can be.

  5. Mudkip is a dude?

  6. the privilege to do what we ask for ! and when you ask we dont do that lol

  7. pee while standing xD

  8. 'Male privilege': that obviously refers to wealthy, usually white men who have been born into privilege backgrounds.

Surely it can't refer to boys born in poor areas (even in the richest nations these exist), where often they have criminal families and are brainwashed into this way of life and spend most of their later life in and out of prison. Or born into the family of parent/s with drug or drunk problems. I know of kids (of both genders) who were drug addicts before they were anywhere near the age of 16, in some cases who died from drugs before they even reached that age. Just where are their male privileges?

What about boys of ethnic minorities in any country, already having to worry about racism and whether they are fitting in. Or boys and young men born with learning difficulties or a mental health problem, or who develop these conditions as a result of their social conditions. Telling isn't it: the majority of the prison population is made up from people from poor areas, a disproportionate number of people from ethnic minority groups, people with drug and drink problems and three quarters of all prisoners in the UK have two or more mental health problems including schizophrenia.

Any 'privileges' are far outweighed by the cost of being male:

From the dawn of time men have been bred to kill (or be killed by) other human beings, i.e. forced to fight in wars, which is still going on in many countries. As a pacifist this to me is one of the ultimate forms of exploitation. Yet never has this gender discrimination ever been recognised (and the idea of conscientious objector only came in at the time of WW2).

Several word airlines (I can provide links) have policies that no man can sit next to a child he does not know. Few women will ever know what it feels like to be labelled a potential child abuser, a monster, just because you were born in a certain type of body.

And NO statistics justify discrimination. The idea of equal pay is that it is wrong to discriminate. I heard a radio show recently saying even some female employers think it is right to discriminate against women, regarding maternal issues. I have heard many strong arguments, but I disagree. Discrimination is wrong whatever the statistics say (the n**i's used statistics to justify their discrimination of Jewish people early on). Yet how many women who disagree with discrimination against women in this form then go join a company that gives lower car insurance to women? It is the exact same!

  9. Mudkip what you listed arent privileges.

  10. he can stand  anywhere to pee

  11. Being drafted and being FORCED to give up his seat on lifeboats are not privileges.

  12. football player?

  13. Just by being born, automatic preferential entitlement to a place in any job; course of study; almost any sport; position in the military or politicial spheres - compared to any female or non-white applicant.

Freedom from preconceived derision that is directed at any female. For example: she should be at home caring for her children instead of mucking about in matters that women aren't good at; women are too hysterical and illogical to be good in politics, and if she is good at it - she's so masculine.

Automatic privelege for white males is so much a fabric of the everyday from the moment that they are born that they are unaware of it, and only become aware when they are denied something that they want to do. Few men question the world as it is because it works for them by default.

    Mudkip's list - great work.

Edit: I can't believe the number of posters who are feeling superior when they don't even know what the word 'privilege' means. It's an advantage, entitlement, benefit that exists as an individual, social group or class's prerogative to exercise. It isn't earned. Men don't get these things by asking for them -they have them at birth, simply because of being born into a given society and because they have the genitals that qualify them to occupy a privileged position.

  14. A p***s

  15. a p***s

  16. A previlege is something to be provided to a person regardless of the giver's inclinations.

What Mudkip,Tracey,Pandora and many others have posted are not previleges.

All these so called "previleges" they have cited are void if a guy demand these previelegs from a person (boss or authoritative person) who is not a sexist.  So they are assuming sexist people's actions as a "previlege" of others.

Men cannot be deemed to have these previeleges.  They cannot ask for these things listed in the answers from anybody other than a sexist.

There are so many males who will have s*x with any female that comes their way.  Does it make "s*x" a previlege of all women and that all women are to be provided with "s*x" if they demand it from any male?  I dont think so.  Hence "s*x" is not a previlege women have.

  17. Peeing while standing and a p***s.

  18. mudkip, those are harsh realities and everybody has to deal with harsh realities regardless of gender. nobody has the right to have every little thing just so, however feminists are taking a good shot at it.

i control what i build and so do you, get it?

  19. Mudkip said it best. And yes, those are privileges. And your "white woman" comment reveal that you're a racist as well as a sexist. Nice job.

  20. The ability to be taken seriously in business, home or the world in general without being called a *****, emotional, or PMS-ing.

  21. Men only clubs

  22. Hard to think of any really.

One privilege that I know has been lost is the rights of a father after divorce. The father use to be the natural guardian of his children. Now he is not.

  23. A man can stand while peeing.  A woman must sit down.  A man can pee almost anywhere.  A man does need toilet paper when he pees.  A woman generally does.
