  1. Well just regular deer make people get in car accidents.

  2. Most of the problems arise from overpopulation.  The paths they walk can become so compacted that grass will not grow and rainwater uses the path as a gutter, polluting the streams and killing salmon and trout.  Red deer will graze, but they are mostly browsers and can scar trees by eating all they can reach.  As witness, the north rim of Arizona's Grand canyon still has a "browse line" dating from a time when all predators were removed, deer population ballooned and then crashed from lack of food, and this was over 70 years ago.

The modern science of wildlife management, as developed by Aldo Leopold, dates from the same era.  As a forester, he saw the importance of maintaining populations at appropriate levels.

  3. An increse in the population of predators, such as wolves, which may in turn wander into suburban population centers, or decrease the population of their other prey.

Deforestation caused by their eating tree sprouts, and erosion from eating the grass, which is subsequently washed away by rain.
