I am thinking about quiting drinking. I will have to leave my boyfriend because he drinks every night. Is this a good decision? I just feel as though since we have been together I drink way too much and quitting for him is not an option. What would you do?

  1. Personally I don't drink because I've grown up with so many people that drink a lot. Mainly my brother and my dad. So I would say quit.

But really its all up to you. If you feel you're drinking to much as it is and its the fact that being in this relationship then neither is very healthy. Is there a chance that he would cut back for you? Maybe before making any rash decisions about your relationship talk to him about him cutting back on drinking.

  2. Quit your boyfriend, first; then bring your drinking to what you're happy with.

As far as problems...arrested in high school; arrested in the 20s; plus more.

  3. You're going to leave your boyfriend because you're drinking too much? No, that's stupid. Leave your boyfriend if you think he's drinking to much, but it's you with the problem. Gain some self-control.

I was suspended in 10th year of High School because I was drinking with a couple friends in the bathrooms. I only drink socially and am very controlled most of the time, so that's as far as it goes for me.

  4. Okay first off... Even though I'm a guy, I understand where you're coming from. I had to stray away from my old group of friends because they drank way too much and they smoked a lot. I started drinking and smoking at 13. I smoked a gram of weed a day and a few Colts a day, and when we drank, I would drink a 40 of Jack Daniels (no lie, seriously). Once I left them though, I learned that you still can drink and smoke weed (I quit cigars after 5 years of smoking them, it's still very very hard) but you can do it in MODERATION.

However, instead of dumping him and leaving him, please, just talk to him about it before you leave him. Sometimes girls can be very harsh. Anyways, I hope this helped, and if you need more help just email me.

  5. The problems drinkings has caused me getting arrested told to leave my high school for going there drunk getting fired from work and my family wanting nothing to do with me im only 18.

  6. Yes, good decision. It's worse when you get married.  My wife drinks like her throat is on fire starting right away at breakfast time.  Vodka.  Like two bottles all throughout the day.  And worse, she's a schizophrenic compulsive shoplifter and kleptomaniac.  The doctors(and Oh have their been many) say it's all due to the drink.  Quit now, young one.  I'd have ditched her years ago, but, you know....
