What procedures are available to fix an underbite?

My brother recently had surgery to fix his underbite. It involved getting his top jaw broken and realigned. He has to spend 3-6 weeks on painkillers and a liquid diet.

I have an underbite as well and am supposed to have surgery in 2 years. Is there a less invasive procedure to fix my bite?

My mum had an underbite as well but hers was fixed with a spring in the top jaw. Do they still do that?

yes there are many different ways you can fix underbites :>

if you go to your orthodontist they will work out which is the best way to fix yours as i cannot see had severe it really is? or isnt? but the most general and common types of treatment is surgery or you might be able to get braces and fix them with the help of headgear and elastics but i cant see your jaw harmony, teeth, lips, jaws, midline etc so icannot see the extent of your problem...
