  1. Many years ago Indo-Australian plate got separated with Gondvana land and collapsed with Eurasian plate. When they collapsed the sea named Tethis(sea caught between them), due the huge pressure from both plates raised up and formed Himalaya. And as the  Indo-Australian plate is moving towards Eurasian plate the height of Himalaya is also increasing.

  2. plaque tectonics

The plaque of india is colliding with that of China

  3. Yep. As others said before me, the Indo-Australian Plate is now pushing beneath the Eurasian Plate. Of course, over time the former plate will move under the Eurasian Plate & I think the Himalayas will collapse upon themselves, which was the case for the Andes Mountains.

  4. I think it is formed by folding due to internal forces and extrogenic forces.

  5. The Indo-Australian Plate is being pushed into the Eurasian Plate. The place where the two plates meet are currently buckling due to all the pressure . As the two plates squeeze together they cause the crust there to thicken, so the part at the surface rises in elevation, but also the bottom is also getting deeper. The two plates will eventually merge to form one plate and the tectonic process will stop, and the long, slow process of erosion will begin to wear away the mountain range.

The term for the process is plate-tectonics
