  1. Neither. Intel is.

  2. athlons are designed for desktop systems and turions are designed for laptops and notebooks, but desktop processors always have higher clocks than laptops, notebooks tend to have a maximum of 2.4ghz for dual cores were as desktops are going beyond 3.0ghz so to answer your question, athlons are better than turions

  3. Turion is the better of the two.  I believe the Turion is a duo-core chip (two processors on one chip) and uses 64bit technology (as opposed to the Athlon's 32bit.)

And pay no attention to that Intel comment.  I'd have an AMD chip over Intel any day.

    Hope this helps :)

  4. You can directly compare AMD's mobile processors here - tick the relevant 'compare' boxes.

  5. depends on 64 bit or 32 bit but the turion is a more stable plat form athlon although similar is les robust than turion turion 64 bit better still by far both r AMD INTEL PROC better

  6. Athlon and Phenom are the only processors from AMD that won't waste a week of your life each year in loading time. Turion is strictly laptop, and if you want your computer to not be a waste of time, go Intel. I've had AMD for about a year now and I've hated it.But athlon is better in that respect.

  7. turion is just the mobile version of athlon , going to  laptop get turion , desktop get athlon , they both come is single and dual core flavors recognised by the 64 x2

  8. turion may be better than a standard athlon, but it's not better than my AMD athlon 64x2 6000+ ''2x3.27 ghz''

to answer your question there are 32 and 64 bit  and single, dual and quad core athlons. all depends on the amount of money you are willing to spend.
