or

.Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66GHz 1333FSB Socket 775 4MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor

The 6750 is £4 more expensive, yet the 8400 appears to have a faster clock speed, so what is better for me, i'm building a gaming PC which will also deal with me doing work and running programs.

Someone help!

  1. E8400 is better. Seeing asthey have the same FSB, you'll want the higher clock speed, and more L2 cache. the E6750 could be a smaller technology, meaning less power consumption, and less generated heat, but if you aren't going to overclock, that won't matter.

  2. The E8400. Faster clock speed, larger cache and the 45nm architecture is faster than the 65nm of the E6750. Just because the E6750 is priced higher at retail sites that doesn't mean they are selling a lot of them. The E8400 also overclocks likes there's no tomorrow. I run an E8500 on an Asus X48 board at 3.8 24/7 and it clocks over 4 GHz easy when I'm benchmarking.

  3. the e8400 but is each processor 3.0ghz or r they running at 1.5 and combined theyr 3.0 ghz cos thers been alot fo false advertising around multi core chipsets make sure you check teh intel website to be sure the specified clock speed !
