  1. Fleas in your yard ????? forgive my ignorance, but how do you get fleas in your yard, I can't understand this, fleas on animals, yes, fleas on humans, yes, fleas in the furniture yes,

but fleas in your yard, what....in the grass?  trees ? what do they live on.........I am not being a smart-***, I simply do not know how fleas live in your garden

  2. a really cheap method is to use powdered lime(gypsum, the stuff drywall is made of)you should be able to buy it at a local garden center or hardware store!sprinkle it everywhere in your yard at first.if it rains, reapply.then every so often, sprinkle it around the perameter of your yard, they die if they "cross the line"!good luck!

  3. you can mix some water with clorox and spray it onton larvae and fleas and if you sprinkle table salt on your floors if you have them indoors and let it sit it will do the trick and to repile(i have no idea if i spelt that correct) use citrus smelling air fresheners or clean vineder and citrus smelling cleaner!!

  4. Mr. Mole--Yes, fleas in the yard.  Before mankind had houses and sofas where do you think the darn things waited for their mammoth host?  Their life cycle can include living in  sandy or light soil.

This year has been horrid.  I've tried spraying with 2 different kinds of chemical sprays on the yard.  Neither worked and I hate "non-organic" cures for anything.

So I'm going back to using diatomaceious earth.   My underestanding is that it is made up of the crushed bodies of diatoms.  The shell fragments are so sharp that the cut flea larvae and kill them.  It looks like talcum powder.  It can be bought at any pool supply place since it is also used in pool filters.  It is harmless to pets and kids.  I coated the ground GOOD in early spring.  Get around plant stalks and tree bases, etc.  I even went 3' outside my yard.

Certainly not a cure all but I think it did help.  I hope someone has an even better answer since I was going to list the same question!
