  1. There a couple of pilot projects in which plastics are converted back to oil (or diesel).

  2. You can make a recycle planter container that will grow a nice indoor potted plant.  You need a clean one gallon plastic container.  The Tree Top brand is ideal lay it down so the front label is facing up and cut a hole to fit any two liter plastic bottle.  The one that I use is a rectangle base two liter plastic bottle like from the Pomegranate juice brand.  Cut that bottle just above the hole and make some small holes for the water to drain into the gallon container.  Having this design will not drown your plant roots and it requires less watering waste if you have two of them.  You can reuse the water from one to the other.  See NASA's Clean Air Plant Study results for the ideal indoor plants.  http://www.zone10.com/tech/NASA/Fyh.htm

  3. I have a knit hat that also includes recycled plastic bottles within the fabric, it makes it more waterproof

  4. if you mean PETE 1 plastic lts can eg 5 2l bottles makes enough fibre for 1 xl tee shirt,25 2l makes one sweater,35 2l bottles makes enoungh fibre filling for a sleeping bag

  5. I saw this in Car & Driver Magazine. Chrysler introduced a car for production in the third world where the body was moulded out of recycled plastic bottles. It is powered by a Briggs & Stratton lawnmower engine and seats two. Top speed of about 15 MPH. Instead of rollup windows the side glass are removal panels and the windshield wiper uses a handcrank. Simple and easy to make.

  6. First the recycling centers take the plastic, and use a seven step method to turn it into plastic pellets.  Then they sell the pellets to manufacturing companies.  So pretty much anything that's made out of plastic can be made out of recycled plastic.  And don't forget to recycle your styrofoam.
